The holidays are upon us and the Xfactor has found it’s winner. But work is not over for the show’s fabulous hair stylist Ken Paves..Well at least it wasn’t until he answered all of our pressing holiday hair concerns! He took some time out of his busy schedule to tell us how we can keep our hair looking beautiful throughout the holiday season. Ken has been responsible for some awesome hair in his time, I mean honestly he made me want Jessica Simpson’s hair at a time when I disliked her the most. It turns out he is very nice too, in the interview he even gives me some tips on how to get over my shyness with extensions. Gotta love him for that! Check out the full interview below and for more info on Ken Paves check out his website here.
FG: You have created some of the hottest hairstyles in hollywood, can you share tips on how to keep our hair looking its best?
KP: With all the wear and tear it takes on your hair to create all these styles it is absolutely key to try and keep it as healthy as possible. I suggest a sulfate free shampoo and also try to not wash your hair everyday. Healthy hair looks and styles better.
FG: I’ve always been shy about getting hair extensions, but now the holidays are here I’m ready to try them out! What would you recommend for a beginner?
KP: Try some clips in (try Hairdo), it’s a great way to ease into it. Don’t start drastic, begin with a similar length or slightly longer and just add some volume. A clip in pony tail in also a great, entry level option for a Holiday look using extensions.
FG: How can we turn our daytime hair into a holiday party ready coif?
KP: Add some Holiday shine and polish, I recommend running a small amount of shine serum through your already styled hair, this automatically makes your hair look luxe and ready for the party.
FG: What kind of hair styling gift can we get the girl who has everything?
KP: Honestly all the girls on the X Factor and all my celeb clients as well love a good hair extension. The X Factor girls are all addicted to their weaves now! If that is a little too much for you, maybe go for a nice, classic yet festive Holiday hair brooch! Happy Holidays and good hair! KP
